Fort Wayne offers many choices for lodging, and we’re not planning to limit our guests to just one. We do suggest that out-of-town visitors will find one of two general areas to be convenient: downtown, and near I-69 exit 111.
For guests that would like to stay downtown to be closer to the reception and check out the downtown attractions, there are a few options available. The Hilton Fort Wayne hotel at the Grand Wayne Convention Center is a short walk from the Woman’s Club, so this is probably the best nearby option. Be sure to check the parking fees before booking here.
Note that we recently found out that the Fort Wayne Hotel & Conference Center has been bought out and will become an assisted living facility. As a result, they are not taking guests after May 1, so they are no longer an option.
For those that would like to stay at a location more convenient to the freeway, there are many good options near I-69 exit 111, especially near the intersection of Washington Center Road and Lima Road (aka State Road 3). This is just a short drive (~15 minutes) from the Woman’s Center and is close to a wide range of shopping and dining options.
Note that the America’s Best Value Inn is probably a bad option. It’s pretty run-down, has lousy reviews, and I think it tends to account for a disproportionate percentage of the crime reports in the area. We recommend that you choose one of the other available hotels; they are all much nicer.
The Fort Wayne Convention and Visitor’s Bureau offers an easy way to find places to stay. Just click on “Where to Stay” and, in the pull-down search menu, select either “Downtown Fort Wayne” or “North/Northwest Fort Wayne” and many lodging options will magically appear. Just a warning – the north/northwest search results cover a wide area, so you will have to look at maps to see if they are near exit 111.
